Melody Kindyland South Link, Bangsar South continues to inspire new generations of children to become knowledgeable and competent global citizens with a transformational learning experience. With over 36 centres serving more than 2600 students annually in Malaysia, Melody Kindyland brings 30 years of early education expertise and experience to better our community and the world. Its practices in teaching and learning are exemplified by the outstanding all-rounded results achieved by its students, which has led the preschool brand to be recognised by Cambridge as a Cambridge Beacon Kindergarten since 2017.
For Melody Kindyland, it is clear early on that the traditional ways of teaching students were no longer applicable, but rather, they have to equip children with a solid foundation of future skills in order to prepare them for a world that is constantly evolving. To do so, they adopted a forward-looking curriculum that ensures students develop the confidence to face uncertainties, have the ability be creative and think out-of-the-box, and also be able to communicate and collaborate with others effectively – whilst fully embracing the fun and wonder of this age.
The preschool’s innovative yet balanced curriculum builds on the foundations of children’s early years to learn new skills to reach their full potential not only in academic learning outcomes but also all other important learning domains, namely language, social, emotional, cognitive and physical. These skills span across a broad range of subjects including a Trilingual Programme, Whole Brain Development, STREAM Learning, Creative Arts, Robotics and Coding, and Leadership Development.
Through a Guided Discovery Learning Approach, the team of trained and experienced teachers at Melody Kindyland expertly weaves subjects together in fun, experiential ways to generate interest in learning and help students apply education to real life. Every day at school, there will be many opportunities for children to stretch their thinking creatively, share their ideas, learn to make decisions, stimulate their brains to problem solve and begin to demonstrate age-appropriate leadership. This approach to education will create a deep impact on children’s learning, helping them cultivate the 4C’s – Creativity, Critical Thinking, Communication and Collaboration – as the first stepping stone towards achieving future success.
Another key element of Melody Kindyland that contributes to a holistic education is a positive environment that’s conducive to learning and benefits the overall well-being of its students. The school’s purposefully designed i-MELODY Learning Space boasts 7 unique zones to provide children with the space to explore, read, work, interact, play and nurture the joy of learning.
The spaces include: Inventor Space (to foster out-of-the-box thinkers), Math Space(to develop foundational mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills), Exploratory Space(to help children explore their self-identity and regulate social-emotional abilities), Literacy Space (to develop emergent literacy skills), Orchestra Space (to promote an appreciation of aesthetic arts), Discovery Space (to help children discover the world around them through STREAM activities), and Yay! Space (to ensure children’s physical needs and sense of well-being are met).
It's not just the physical space that’s optimised for learning. The teachers here also place tremendous importance on crafting a space where all children are valued and respected for their own individualities. They encourage students to freely express their ideas, be comfortable exploring different areas of their strengths, and feel like they belong to an effective learning community. Teachers celebrate student achievement, but also applaud students who are different. Every child at Melody Kindyland is truly able to become his/her best authentic self to grow into strong learners, and eventually develop into contributing members of the world.
