Founded on the core ideals of quality education and purposeful engagement, the principal, Ms. Esther Law, recognised the need to provide children with high calibre teaching and multiple performing platforms to become the finest version of themselves within a supportive setting.
Situated next to Ampang Point Shopping Centre, the school is home to a lively and energetic community of young learners who are united by a common passion for music and the arts. As of January 2019, the school has expanded with a second location in Solaris Mont Kiara called Allegro Music Kiara. Both branches provide outstanding facilities that are second to none. Early Childhood Programme (2 to 6 years)
Courses available at Ampang branch only
Courses in the Early Childhood Programme allow students to explore interests in music, art or dance. Classes are conducted in small groups, with a low teacher-to-student ratio, allowing students to get the most out of the course. Learning with peers encourage students to become active learners by developing an early skill set of playing and performing with others. Students progressively grow with a strong sense of music appreciation, constructive listening skills, ability for self-expression, and focused concentration and hand-eye coordination.

Specialist Course Programme (7 years and above)

The Specialist Course department offers training at the highest international level for students to acquire a technical foundation in piano, strings, woodwind, brass, jazz studies, voice, IGCSE music, art or dance. Lessons are timetabled to include aural and theory training, supported practice, composition and more.
In addition to coached tuition sessions, the varied programmes expose students to opportunities to take part in many activities that are simply not available at other music schools such as string ensembles, chamber music groups and orchestra training. Students get to develop their skills as soloists, as well as become accustomed to working in a group, with diverse performance opportunities that can range from weekly lunchtime recitals in the school to public performances at festivals and concerts.
Music Outreach
Allegro Music & Arts prides itself on the eminence of their international professional teaching staff from Europe, Russia, United Kingdom, China and Macedonia, as well as home-grown qualified Malaysian tutors. Regular masterclasses and collaborative projects with distinguished international visiting artists and music professors in the Allegro International Music Study Programme offer students invaluable exposure to the wider music world. Past programme destinations brought students across the globe to Vienna, Salzburg, Milan, Budapest and Singapore.
Many Allegro Music & Arts students have achieved great success both in competitions and as performers at national and international festivals including Singapore Raffles International Music Festival in Malaysia 2016, ASEAN International Chopin Piano Competition and ABRSM Ensemble Competition in Peninsular Malaysia 2015.
Specialist Music Auditions and Consultations
If students wish to be considered for a specialist music place, they need to apply for an audition. Allegro Music & Arts is the official Malaysian representative for the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. Auditions for applications from musicians in Malaysia are welcomed. For students considering a future career within the music profession, consultations can be arranged.
Piano and String Instruments Sales and Repairs
For a wholesome journey of learning, the school’s retail section offers high quality yet affordable pianos and hand-crafted string instruments of the Eastman Strings brand for students to professionals. The school provides personalised consultation to advise parents on the most suitable instrument for their child and also services for restoration and repair work.
