Little Haus Preschool & Childcare Centre prides itself as a creative learning preschool. Instead of adopting the traditional approach of subject-based teaching, the school prepares children for life-long learning by making learning fun. It has more than 15 years of experience and strength in merging the Montessori and Thematic Integrated Curriculum whilst building upon early childhood education’s best practices.
The school features a wide natural green outdoor space which many preschools lack these days. The founder believes that for young children, learning should take place outdoors as much as indoors. Spaces within are organized thoughtfully and well-lit with natural light, the prepared environment makes it a conducive learning space for children 1.5 to 6 years old.
Children are encouraged to explore, discover, play and learn; and develop and grow wholesomely under kind and caring support from the team of dedicated and experienced teachers. Each child’s individual experience is central to the ethos of the school – “Where childhood is a journey, not a race”.
The school is dedicated to fulfill the intrinsic needs of children for learning through their senses. As such, children are engaged in active, hands-on experiences in a cooperative environment where individual development is also provided for in the following programmes:
Programmes are offered with the flexibility of half day, extended day and full daycare options. A menu of balanced meals makes a welcomed support to urban parents.
Understanding that young children are a curious lot, the school adopts an enquiry-based and creative approach. Learning takes place through activities that are integrated across different development areas such as cognitive (math & science), language arts, creative arts, music, social-emotional and physical; enhanced with field trips and group projects, practical life and sensorial activities, for a well-balanced experience. On top of this, children of kindergarten age are prepared for formal schooling with Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia lessons following the National Preschool Curriculum.
Art and nature are an integral part of learning at Little Haus. The daily creative art experiences allow children to explore, experiment and discover possibilities. The outdoor garden which often invites visiting butterflies and creepy crawlies, keep the children in awe, and, together with the vegetable patch, plays a role in allowing children to understand their relationship with nature and their responsibility for it.
After-school enrichment activities such as drama and music are available to make the whole learning experience more enjoyable and fulfilling. When school is out, holiday programmes provide children with engaging and stimulating theme-based activities.
It is the mission of the school to create a safe, stimulating environment that nurtures the whole child and satisfies their social, emotional, physical and intellectual needs. The attention to values, those of respect and purposeful engagement to the society and environment, is also highly placed in the school’s philosophy. Keeping with the core tenets of the school’s approach, children will be provided with a solid foundation for their life within the school and beyond.
