Therapy at Oasis Place is provided by skilled and experienced therapists with extensive knowledge in assessment, diagnosis and treatment. Treatment is tailored to each individual’s needs and abilities to improve motor skills, language development, social skills, play and more. Specific treatments include occupational therapy with sensory integration, speech and language therapy, music therapy, clinical or educational psychology and nutrition education. Oasis Place therapists focus largely on dynamic approaches to teach skills and to facilitate learning and change.

OPConnect is an online teletherapy platform where children with special needs can get all the assistance and support they need to thrive, wherever and whenever they need it. This could not have been introduced at a better time when we had to make the sudden shift to distance learning environments across the country to control the spread of the coronavirus. Through easy-to-use videoconferencing applications such as WhatsApp and Zoom, therapists at Oasis Place can continue to help children with special needs adhere to their therapy plan during this challenging time. Consistency is vital in order to prevent regression and anxiety for such special children. Moreover, with teletherapy, children who do not live within close proximity to special needs services can now access treatment at the convenience of their own homes.
The philosophy of care and delivery of services at Oasis Place is very much family-centred. Most of the time, treatment is carried out with parents or caregivers present. This way, knowledge and skills learned can be integrated into daily family life to optimise outcomes.
Oasis Place also serves to educate parents, teachers, professionals and other interested parties in the field. Throughout the year, Oasis Place hosts a range of all-inclusive camps, recreation programmes, workshops, talks from local and global experts, and professional certification courses. The enthusiasm and dedication of the Oasis Place's team is infectious as they strive to support individuals with learning differences and to create a positive impact on the community at large.
