KLC Preschool, Johor Bahru provides a valuable first step in the learning journey for children aged 18 months to 6 years. For children, it is a place where fun, learning, exploring, laughter and friends all connect. For parents, it is an environment where they can trust to provide the safest care possible for their children.
The preschool places careful attention into creating a cosy yet stimulating environment that is devoted to the well-rounded growth of children. Every space has been deliberately arranged to provide easy access to learning materials so children can develop self-help skills and confidence. There is also a sizeable vegetable garden in their compound where children can learn how to grow and appreciate food. All is done with clear safety protocols in place, including health checks, temperature taking, daily disinfection, stainless steel safety gates, CCTV surveillance system, as well as a sprung floor to minimise injuries.
Every child at KLC Preschool benefits from its dynamic curriculum. It is one that is designed to help children develop holistically – intellectually, cognitively, socially, emotionally and physically – through varied learning experiences. The curriculum is developed and revised regularly by the preschool’s in-house R&D department.
The KLC method is all about teaching children how to learn. Notably, a way that sparks joy and interest in learning that will stay with children for life. For the youngest age group, children start to build a solid grounding in basic skills and concepts. This covers fun interactive play, music, dance, soft gym, yoga, creative art, early language and numeracy, and development of fine motor skills.
As children grow, they delve deeper into varied skill sets and knowledge by learning across a broad range of subject areas, including:

A distinctive feature of the KLC education system is the incorporation of the American Sign Language (ASL) into the learning process. Children as young as 18 months learn to use signs and gestures to communicate. Signing involves physical movement which keeps children engaged during the lesson. Research has shown that children who learn to sign accelerate in their verbal development, retain knowledge better and outperform their peers on IQ assessments.
Here, teachers understand that children all come with their own set of strengths and talents, as well as weaknesses and challenges. Therefore, teachers don’t stick to traditional teacher-centred methods to teach children, but rather, they offer a flexible, personalised approach to help children grow beyond their capabilities. And children learn in small classes where everyone is given a chance to shine. Every child’s learning journey is recorded in a portfolio. All documentations about their development and progress are readily available for teachers to reflect on and parents to access on a mobile application.
KLC Preschool does not only educate children for academic performance; they educate children for the future. From an early age, children are guided to be learners who seek knowledge independently and ones who can think out-of-the-box. They are comfortable to ask questions and express themselves even when they have differing points of views. In addition, the preschool organises visits to orphanages and nursing homes, as well as teaches children about the United Nation’s goals for a sustainable planet, so that children understand that they need to take action as principled leaders to make the world a better place.
