KindyHaus opened its first centre in Kota Damansara as a specialized baby and child care centre catering for the 2 months to 4 years age group. The centre grew with a new addition in a quiet residential area in Glenmarie, Shah Alam. The new location similarly includes an outdoor compound plus multiple learning spaces for children to enjoy, explore and create their own adventures. It provides a warm, welcoming home-like environment to assist parents with the rapid and important development that occurs in a child’s first few years.
More than just a day care, at KindyHaus Baby & Child Care Centre, the focus is on keeping children happy, healthy, engaged and secure in the following programmes:
Infant Care (2 to 12 months)
Pre-toddler Programme (13 to 20 months)
Toddler Playgroup (21 months to 3 years)
Preschool (3 to 4 years)
Each programme builds on the prior level, providing challenges that are both age and developmentally appropriate. In this way, the programmes aim to prepare children, not just for school but for life.
Beginning at 2 months, the Infant Care programme is designed to nurture the littlest ones with personalized care based on their unique schedule and nutritional guidelines. At this delicate stage, each child develops a nurturing relationship with a registered nurse, fostering a sense of trust, security and safety. Nurses attentively encourage infant development with simple daily activities to help them reach early sensory, communication, feeding and motor milestones such as learning to roll over, smile, babble and crawl. Simple but powerful development-boosting activities include baby massage, tummy time, music, sensory and visual stimulation activities, and many more. All infants are gently guided to meet milestones at their own pace. In close consultation with every family, the primary caregivers work to understand each child’s needs, routines and family practices to ensure they form a comfortable sense of belonging, as well as help identify possible developmental delays. Parents are kept updated through the LittlePoop app.
As the little ones mature, the programmes carefully nurture the transition between infancy to toddlerhood. They are guided towards a more organized and structured schedule to provide consistent activity and rest times. Activities are built around their limitless curiosity, and natural desire to explore and push boundaries. During their time at the centre, they will learn to start building towards following simple instructions, taking their first steps toward independence, developing their communication, learning to cooperate in a community setting with peers and strengthening motor skills. Toddlers get to explore many materials and participate in activities such as story-telling, pretend play, art and craft, singing, and more.
Building on the transition with improved coordination and thinking, the preschool programme helps children expand their knowledge and interests. Qualified teachers create learning experiences across various disciplines – Early Mathematics and Logical Thinking, Early Literacy (English), Art and Craft, Sensory Development, Motor Skills, and Social and Emotional Growth. Each day is packed with thematic-based activities where preschoolers get to explore simple science concepts, create artwork, basic mathematics, movement games, purposeful play, practical life activities, outdoor water and sand play, gardening, etc. Much of this include group learning where children will learn to take turns, cooperate and pick up other keys skills for school readiness.
There is always more to explore. Children extend their discovery in the full-day programme with a schedule of imaginative play, blocks, storytelling and creative expression activities. Teachers utilize daily observations to guide children’s developmental growth, while updating parents accordingly.
The centre stresses on the health, safety and security of children. Maintaining a nurturing environment includes the provision of a healthy dietary menu. Children are fed freshly prepared meals and snacks that are age-appropriate and made out of organic whole foods. Safety gates and CCTV cameras provide added peace of mind as little ones build motor skills, secure perimeters ensure that children can enjoy outdoor play safely, thorough sanitization is carried out routinely, and first aid training is offered to teachers, caregivers and parents.
Days spent in a home-like environment for growing and learning, nurturing interactions with caregivers, individualized attention and experiences, and meaningful relationships with parents are the cornerstones of the curriculum at KindyHaus Baby & Child Care Centre, Glenmarie (Shah Alam).
