Established in 2013, Canridge offers top-tier early childhood education experiences through its Canridge Global Preschool and Canridge Right Brain Development Centre programmes. Its premium facilities and a comprehensive curriculum make Canridge a one-stop solution for parents.
Founder Ms. Jane Soh–a former chartered accountant in Singapore and proud mother of three–was inspired to start Canridge after being exposed to the benefits of flashcard methods in helping babies with their right brain development.
Starting as an enrichment centre in Taman Bukit Indah, Johor Bahru, Canridge has since expanded to multiple branches – including one in Mount Austin, Johor Bahru and another in Bayan Lepas, Penang. Its most recent branch in Bangsar, KL offers a full preschool programme in addition to daycare services.
Canridge’s preschool programme caters to children aged two to six years old. Unlike other preschools where the goal may be to prepare children for primary school, Canridge Global Preschool’s vision is to nurture 21st-century global citizens with a growth mindset.
The comprehensive curriculum covers:
For younger learners, the programme is entirely play-based and is aimed at developing their fine motor skills, sensory perception, and basic social skills. Activities include sand and water play, arts and crafts, and music and movement.
As children progress, the curriculum incorporates more structured learning while still maintaining a strong emphasis on play. This helps to instill strong foundations in literacy in the three main languages of Malaysia (English, Bahasa Melayu, and Mandarin) as well as numeracy, without compromising on the joys of discovery.
“These aspects are essential for raising global citizens who are empathetic and open-minded, who are able to work with others and adapt to new challenges with confidence and resilience,” Jane highlights.
The preschool utilises materials from an international curriculum, such as Jolly Phonics from the UK, Fitzroy Readers from Australia, and Singapore Mathematics. Another highlight is the preschool’s guided reading programme, which is tailored to each child’s progress.
The environment at Canridge is thoughtfully designed to be bright, welcoming, and conducive to exploration. Classrooms are filled with natural light and equipped with age-appropriate, high-quality educational materials.
One of the key highlights is the indoor gym, which features large-scale gym equipment imported from a reputable supplier from Europe. The equipment is BPA-free, making it fully safe to use and suitable for young children. It also has a modular setup, so the children can enjoy versatile circuits every other week.
Safety is a top priority, with features such as padded play areas, secure gates, and CCTV monitoring in place to ensure a safe learning environment. Teachers act as supportive mentors to guide students to achieve their full potential.
Aside from its preschool programme, Canridge is known for its right-brain development programme targeting children from six months old up to six years old.
"Scientific research has shown that before the age of six, the brain's right hemisphere is predominantly active, connecting neurons and creating pathways that significantly boost future learning capacities,” Ms. Jane explains.
The programme covers a variety of activities, including flashcards, play gym, music and movements, as well as art sessions.
“Children with a well-developed right brain have a stronger memory capacity than those with a less-developed right brain. They become faster learners with a longer attention span and a better ability to concentrate,” shares Ms. Jane.
Canridge’s Triple-H methodology creates a positive atmosphere for effective learning and helps to create strong visual memories. "When children are happy and engaged, their brain waves are in a state that is most conducive to absorbing new information," she notes.
Canridge’s Right-Brain Development programme is held in hourly sessions from Mondays to Saturdays at their centres in JB and Penang.
It is conducted in small groups, ensuring personalised attention and allowing each child to progress at their own pace. For infants and toddlers, parents are required to attend the programme together with their children.
Canridge offers rich and dynamic programmes that support the holistic development of young children. Its right-brain development programme sets the stage for improved learning beyond a child’s early years, while its preschool fosters a love for learning and prepares children to thrive as independent and global-minded individuals.
With half-day and full-day programmes available at their branches, where all your child’s needs are taken care of, Canridge is well-poised to offer a complete early childhood educational experience all under one roof.
