Small Wonder welcomes its newest sibling to the family, the Kota Kemuning branch. Every child, parent and teacher that comes to one of the Small Wonder kindergartens becomes part of the family. Small Wonder holds a very special place in the local early education community. There are parents who originally attended Small Wonder, and are now bringing their children back to the kindergarten. It is a welcoming, loving and supportive atmosphere for all.
Small Wonder believes that a positive educational experience requires a symbiotic relationship, with each always ready to discuss and listen to the other. Teachers are always ready to discuss the child’s progress; parents can freely voice their concerns; the founder is ever so supportive of her staff members. There is a shared passion for the mission and vision of the kindergarten to create an exceptional learning environment for the children.
A life of learning begins with the first step of enrolling in a Small Wonder programme. The programmes are unparalleled, with content that remains at the forefront of early childhood education. The team continually evaluates their effectiveness and never stops improving their methods. Grounded by current research in child development and guided by best practice guidelines
Early learning concepts are presented in developmentally-appropriate, creative and fun ways. Children are given a wide variety of materials and opportunities that encourage them to explore their interests and what they want to discover. Through observation and individualised lesson plans, children are provided with further experiences and guidance to enhance learning, and this cycle goes on.
Here, children are considered to be competent learners who are able and creative. Their thought processes are highly valued and their uniqueness is carefully nurtured. Teachers are grounded by current research in child development and are guided by the best practice guidelines to optimise the environment. The kindergarten believes in healthy food choices which promote positive growth and development in children. Much attention is given to the nutritional balance of meals and snacks, with a pleasing variety. Children are taught table manners, cleanliness and hygiene to promote healthy living. Outdoor learning opportunities complement children’s health and well-being. There is plenty of time for children to use their whole bodies, satiate their curiosity and enjoy the wonders around them.
