The centre’s name has been very well chosen. ‘Precious’ signifies the precious nature of each and every child and just as ‘Seeds’ need sunshine, water and care to bloom, the centre will provide a child with love and nurturing to grow. Precious Seeds opens its doors to children aged 3 months to 4 years old.
The space in Precious Seeds has been designed in an open concept. The whole centre has been installed with cushioned laminated flooring. The different environments are very spacious and there is ample room for the children to move and to explore. The whole centre is airy and bright and very well ventilated. All furniture and shelving has been purpose made to child height for easy access by the children. Children’s books of fairy tales, ABC’s, 123’s and educational toys have been stacked and arranged neatly in various shelves and boxes. There is an indoor playground right inside the front entrance. A little kitchenette plus showers and washrooms for the little ones have also been custom built within the centre itself. Very impressive. But the feature that absolutely stands out is the infant care room. This has been built along the entire wall on one side of the centre. It is separated from the main environment by a wall and custom installed sliding doors and glass. All windows facing the outside have been tinted with a very soothing and pleasant blue film to filter out the harmful UV rays from the sun. Little white cots are all neatly arranged in a row and they even have their very own little wash and shower area.
The core programme at Precious Seeds is predominantly Montessori based. The centre aims to provide learning experiences to nurture a child’s innate desire for knowledge, discovery and social interaction skills in a stimulating environment filled with positive encouragement and support from teachers.
Infant Care is not just about feeding the infants, changing their diapers and watching them sleep. The Infant care programme at Precious Seeds emphasizes the physical, intellectual as well as the emotional well-being of the infant. An infant’s motor skills, sensory and physical development are important aspects of the programme. There are also music sessions which will help the infants become more aware about their surroundings, improve their sensitivity to sounds and the lyrics also aid in their language, social and emotional development.
