The enrichment classes taught at MyGenius Tuition & Daycare Centre also serve as a scaffolding, so to speak, for students who are weak in any of the three languages offered. “For example, if a Primary 1 student finds Mandarin a struggle to cope with in school due to his non-Mandarin speaking background and insufficient or no Mandarin lessons during kindergarten, the Mandarin enrichment will definitely help to close the knowledge gap of said student, for it educates him from the very basics, until he reaches at the same level of the school’s lessons and is able to cope well, and ultimately experience the joy of learning,” Mr Tan patiently explained. Here, the creativity of teachers matter

The centre’s teachers are all screened for suitability by ensuring that they are not only qualified for the job and hold valid teaching permits, but also, teaching young children has to be their first and main career choice. They undergo monthly self-upgrading, with training provided by the centre’s central quality control team to ensure that they always perform their best as teachers. “It is an important Key Performance Index of ours that teachers carry out their duties with optimal creativity and student engagement, and they are closely monitored on what they bring to the table in terms of teaching,” Mr Poh shared. What’s more, a teacher from the centre will also be present at the school to ensure that each student safely boards the bus together with their belongings.
