Choo Choo Train welcomes children into a warm and supportive environment that is purposefully organised for their age and stage of development. From programmes to teachers, Choo Choo Train’s approach to early childhood education inspires a love of learning. When children’s brains are growing faster than they ever will at this stage, every learning moment counts. And this means starting from 2 months after birth.

Infant & Baby Development Programme (2-12 Months Old)

“I am small but I have big potentials!”

Choo Choo Train understands that it’s a big decision for parents to leave their babies in the hands of others. They can rest assured that the qualified nurses will make sure the transition from home to centre goes smoothly.

The environment is kept shoe-free so that it’s safe from germs and dirt, especially when babies start to crawl around. The cribs are clear of pillows and toys and use firm mattresses. There are policies to carefully handle and store breast milk to ensure babies are happily fed and healthy.

During this prime brain development period, babies are exposed to simple daily activities that support their milestones (following their individual sleeping and feeding schedules). They listen to music and stories, they touch and feel different textures, and they express emotions through facial expressions and movements.

Toddler I Playgroup Programme (1-2 Years Old)

“I am creative and imaginative!”

At this stage, children start wandering around. There are lots of discovering and learning new things every day. In the classrooms, everything is child-size. Toys and books are placed within easy reach to help the little explorers navigate the room in a safe and confident way.

Stacking blocks, sorting shapes, talking into toy phones, throwing balls, and plenty of playtime are part of the fun daily rhythm. Activities are built around children’s limitless wonder and curiosity. No matter what children love to do, teachers guide them to explore their interests.

Toddler II Playgroup Programme (2-3 Years Old)

“I am communicative and responsible!”

As children take the first steps toward independence, they are able to participate in a wider array of activities that develops their communication and strengthens their motor skills. This is where children learn to do more things by themselves like potty-training and handwashing. They also come together in groups, widening their circle of friends, and learn how to share and take turns. Alongside other social-emotional skill building tools, they understand their feelings and how to express them. 

Nursery Exploration Programme (3-4 Years Old)

“I am sociable and independent!”

Teachers get them ready for the years ahead. Children prepare to go to ‘big school’ – kindergarten. As their minds are more ready, teachers deepen children’s knowledge in early language, math and science concepts. New activities are introduced to nurture their intellectual, cognitive, social, emotional and physical skills. For much of the day, they are playing, reading, asking questions, creating and gaining new knowledge through varied experiences. Promoting an appreciation for cultural diversity is also an integral part of learning for the children.   

Professional Child Care SOP

Health and safety are always of top priority for Choo Choo Train. Parents can count on their professional team for the most reliable child care in the local community while they are at work. Choo Choo Train goes above and beyond to maintain their high standards, as well as meet the government’s licensing requirements for child care centres. Their amazing team comprises qualified nurses and early childhood educators who are CPR and first aid certified. As always, pandemic or not, teachers and staff go through extensive training on health and safety practices. Every Choo Choo Train centre goes through routine evaluation to ensure quality is retained and improved where necessary.
