It is located in the town of Tenom which is about 185km from Kota Kinabalu. The gallery displays the history of Tenom including the infamous Rundum revolt led by warrior Antanum Ontoros.
The Royal Collections consists of a range of magnificent personal collections of artifacts and gifts covering the period of the late Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah's reign.
Formerly a Government Rest House, built in 1946 and completed in 1947. It was built by the Borneo Construction Company Ltd. It has been turned into the Keningau Heritage Museum in 2008.
The museums collections consist of all types of artifacts related to the chronology of events leading to the establishment of the museum itself.
