Super Genius Kids (SGK), also known as Tadika Genius Riang (TGR), was established in 2016. The founders are by no means any ordinary kindergarten operators but have excellent working experiences with the Ministry of Education (MOE) for more than 15 years.
SGK did not just materialise by chance. It is through the cultivation of over 15 years' involvement in early childhood education and the realisation of the founder's void/purposeless in her chosen career path then. She felt that there is so much more she could contribute to the future generation of the young learners.
She wanted to bring forth her vision of early childhood education via proper nurturing and guidance to the children of today.
The specially designed curriculum and teaching methods adopted in SGK is an integration of renowned early childhood philosophers, the E-SEE Pictorial Chinese Character Learning Programme (E-SEE PCC) and the MOE's education system.
It is through the brainstorming and hard work of the founders and a consultant with a doctoral degree from UTAR whom is an experienced lecturer and writer to find out how to help children reach important learning milestones.
At SGK, teachers focus and constantly create and develop their very own authentic and high quality teaching materials that are unavailable at other schools in accordance with the aims and methods of teaching.
Unique and interesting teaching methods in the main languages are created and designed to help acquire or review vocabulary and playing educational games by using sight memory.
SGK reserved the copyright under ESee-PCC for their creative work of the Chinese characters teaching aids bearing valuable information on both sides for familiarity, memorization, repetition and active recollection.
These teaching aids are an incredibly versatile study tool to help young children master those new Chinese characters that they will encounter over and over again. In no time, their Chinese fluency will enable them to excel in their transition to primary school marking the beginning of new challenges and stages of learnings.
Great care and dedication are taken in the preparation of the relevant teaching materials such as Jolly Phonics and the Victoria Readers to strengthen the English foundation.
The class sizes are kept to a minimal so that the teachers will be able to spend more time with each child and provide personalized guidance based on each child's learning ability. As some children may be weaker in certain subjects, a one-to-one guidance will be provided to help them understand better and excel.
Additional enrichment classes such as arts and crafts, music and dance are also conducted for children in their development of motor skills, language skills, social skills, teamwork, decision-making, risk taking and inventiveness.
The curriculum and syllabus at SGK have been specially developed to provide a holistic preschool education to the children and to inculcate responsibility and a love for lifelong learning.
SGK believes patience is required for one to captivate a child's heart. The teachers will always communicate and understand the children by all means. Once the children are willing to accept the teacher, teaching them will become much easier. Another factor that contributes to a happy child is the conducive and engaging environment for learning.
Classes in SGK are spacious, brightly lit, clean and thoroughly ventilated.
SGK has also prepare a special playroom filled with a variety of educational toys and resources such as building blocks, props for role play and storytelling. Story books are in abundance and easily accessible to the children of all levels to broaden their vocabulary.
Other than academic development, SGK also places great emphasis on character building. The founders believe that attitude and good values shape a person. With a positive attitude towards life, one will be happy and successful just like in our SGK's motto: "Heartfelt Desire To Learn and To Succeed". To make learning even more fun and enjoyable, our founders rearranges and rewrites the lyrics of the nursery rhymes or popular songs to teach moral values. By singing along, the children can apprehend the language.
Learning need not be confined in the classroom only, SGK has organized field trips and excursions to places like The National Zoo, KidZania, Farm in the City, Beryl's Chocolate Factory, KL Tower and so on. On such field trips, the children are exposed to the environment outside empowering them with different experiences and igniting their curiosity.
The founders' sincere belief that "no child cannot be taught" reflects that if there is a strong desire and will to learn, it will be accompanied by a positive attitude towards learning. With the determination, passion and dedication, their vision of early childhood education will be achievable.
