Since its establishment in 1986, R.E.A.L Kids (formerly known as CEC) has grown to be one of the largest owner-operated kindergarten chains in Malaysia, with more than 30 centres and 5,000 students nationwide. R.E.A.L Kids Relau currently serves as the only R.E.A.L Kids centre in Penang, and is a specially-designated kindergarten that comes equipped with a host of purpose-built and child-friendly facilities. These include fully air-conditioned classrooms, a swimming pool, computer lab, library, Google room, and mini canteen, among others. The centre features a Primary school style or setup that prepares children for formal education in the future.

The curriculum also utilizes comprehensive materials and meaningful approaches that facilitate learning. These include project-based and interdisciplinary learning; Multiple Intelligences (MI), and play/game-based learning. Learning becomes natural and fun when children constantly and curiously explore their world while solving problems or challenges at their own pace.
Another important feature of R.E.A.L Kids’ customized curriculum is delivering all-round, balanced education. Offering extracurricular activities like gymnastics and swimming enables children to not only pick up vital life skills, but to also cultivate a healthy and active lifestyle that is beneficial to their overall growth and well-being. “To add value, we even hire professional coaches to guide children in proper swimming and gymnastics techniques,” added Ms. Lily.

At R.E.A.L Kids Relau, providing a safe and happy space is crucial for children to feel comfortable and to participate in both classroom and extracurricular activities. The centre is purposefully designed for preschool education and the facilities available include a spacious library and reading corner; a stage for children performance and other artistic or creative pursuits; spacious, conducive, and fully air-conditioned classrooms; a computer lab cum Google room; a role play room where children can simply have fun and express themselves through acting, etc; a swimming pool; and a mini canteen where they can enjoy meals together.
