Pusat Tuisyen Seri Elit Plt, Semenyih has been supporting primary school students in its vicinity since 2015 to perform at their best. The primary school years are formative years for a young person. It is where they start to strengthen their foundations even further to grow into competent adults. So, for them to have proper guidance along this journey can make or break their academic success. This is where Pusat Tuisyen Seri Elit comes in. Its services go beyond helping students with their schoolwork; it is also about instilling good daily habits into their lives to better support them. As a result, students who have joined them have definitely seen an increase in confidence, scored better grades and developed a greater love of learning.
To suit the convenience of working parents, the centre operates until 9.30pm with transportation services available by arrangement. It is believed to be the only centre in that area – if not, one of the rare few – that offers tuition to secondary school students as well.
Pusat Tuisyen Seri Elit was co-founded by two tuition teachers who used to tutor students since their high school days. Being experienced aside, they believe that becoming positive role models and mentors to the students they work with can really prepare them not just for school but for life.
The centre offers the following main services:
Working with small groups of students with similar range of abilities, the teachers will guide primary school students in the five core subjects that are taught in schools – English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, Mathematics and Science. Students will be taught to develop a strong understanding of the concepts that are outlined in the KSSR curriculum. At Pusat Tuisyen Seri Elit, it is its goal to make learning exciting and to inspire confidence in its students to reach their peak performance – not just memorising answers.
The centre’s valuable offerings also include tuition for secondary school students – which many other similar centres don’t cater to. Secondary students will similarly be guided to improve their knowledge in the main subjects implemented in their respective school curriculums, alongside History, Geography and Moral. The tutors will help students with their homework, equip them with problem-solving skills to handle challenging questions, and provide support for them to do well in their exams.
Besides tutoring, students will benefit from the environment and structured routines of spending their time here for day care. They will ingest the nutrients needed for their growing needs through healthy, balanced home-cooked meals, as well as pick up good learning and homework habits. Plus, there will also be time for children to socialise with peers, making it an overall fun experience to be at the centre after school.
These sessions will cover the basic mechanics that allow students to strengthen their foundational writing skills. They will be taught the fundamentals in grammar, sentences and paragraphs in the three main languages (English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin), which will in turn help improve students’ ability to write more well-structured essays.
Through these reading classes, students will advance their reading skills in terms of vocabulary and comprehension. With lots of great stories to entice children to read, they will eventually develop a love of reading that will last throughout their lives.
