Kidskool, Bandar Bukit Puchong is a promising haven for infants and children aged 2 months to 12 years. For many families, this school has brought nothing but the best in their children. It has helped them thrive emotionally and intellectually, and parents couldn’t be happier with their experience.
While there are lots of excellent preschools in Klang Valley, what won us over is the school’s boundless devotion to the well-rounded growth and happiness of every child. As it was founded by Ms. Quinn, a loving mother of two with extensive work experience in quality assurance, we wouldn’t expect anything less. Being a mom herself, she truly knows what a mother would want for her child when it comes to childcare. And her previous job makes it second nature to ensure that all standards are top-notch.
Ms Quinn shares, “Parents are very particular about finding a school that would make their children feel at home. They want a school that is adaptive to the child’s needs, as well as their own. While finding the perfect fit isn’t always easy, we have put in our utmost effort to create the best match possible.”
“We welcome all new families to join us for a week of trial lessons before fully committing to our programmes,” she adds.
The programmes at Kidskool aim to enable children to grow in confidence in order to be able to thrive in future situations. Using a play-based approach, children immerse in activities that allow them to discover new things. They learn about themselves and where they fit in the world. Pretend play, moral stories, crafting with recyclable materials, cookery and other structured games are all part of the fun. Even everyday activities like eating and good sleep hygiene habits become learning opportunities here. The variety of skills they learn is fantastic.
“We are not an academically rigorous preschool, but rest assured that your child will do well in primary school. The way we do it is by nurturing children’s love for learning across all subjects. It is a gradual process but the most effective in helping them love learning throughout their lives,” highlights Ms. Quinn.
An array of quality learning materials is used to inspire children to learn, including educational books by Malaysia’s award-winning publisher Pelangi, as well as Robin readers. These reading books come with a useful learning companion – an i-Pen – that can read out the words and play the songs in the books.
Additionally, the school has also partnered with external providers to provide a range of exciting enrichment activities, such as Taekwondo, science, art and craft, and music and movement.
When you visit the school, the first thing you would probably notice is how cosy it is with calm white walls and light-coloured wood furnishings. It exudes the same inviting atmosphere as its first branch, which is located at Seri Kembangan. There are similar aesthetically designed facilities including open concept learning classrooms, canteen, gender separate dormitories and tiled water play area.
The lift to the top floor opens up to an impressive active space where children can jump, bounce and have fun. Perfect for practising gross motor skills, and maybe impress their friends with their moves too! This area is interconnected to a stage used for presentations and performances.
All is set within a safe environment with clear guidelines. The school has different entrances for different age-groups; there are double-access doors, where the first access allows for parents to drop off and pick up their children; and the second access is where teachers and children enter their learning spaces. “This gives us an additional layer of protection, which is crucial during times like now,” says Ms. Quinn.
Other features and protocols such as full CCTV surveillance, safety gates, open air mesh panel for better air ventilation in the classroom, a special fridge for breast milk, and daily temperature and health checks are in place to put parents at ease.
For Kidskool, parent-school communication is key to a positive preschool experience. Parents can easily access a mobile application to view daily updates about their child’s progress. Babies and toddlers can also be thoroughly monitored to see if milestones are being met. This is great for both parents and teachers to track learning effectively and in an open, transparent manner.
Another wonderful thing about Kidskool is that they pay a lot of attention to the food that children have. Meals here are a fusion of different cuisines that include local delicacies and Western delights. This is so children can explore diverse foods from a young age.
In the time of the current pandemic, teachers at Kidskool pay extra attention to children’s emotional well-being. They bond well with children and encourages children to do the same with their friends. The aim is to create a harmonious classroom environment where children feel happy being in.
Kidskool, Bandar Bukit Puchong limits its enrollment to a small total number of students per age group. By focusing on this select group, teachers can make sure that each child receives the attention s/he needs. It also allows for flexibility when required. Last year was a great testament to how quickly they supported the children and parents during lockdown and the gradual return to school. Ms. Quinn and her team do a wonderful job of listening, reflecting and supporting families to the best of their efforts. This, we feel is extra special when it comes to picking a school for your child.
