International schools may have escalated to become the preferred choice of education for many families, but it is overtly expensive. For those who are not in a position to afford the fees, there is still a chance in pursuing educational aspirations by securing a scholarship. However, if you were to search for scholarships in Malaysia, most offerings are for pre-university and undergraduate courses. If you are looking for scholarships to help pay for secondary school education, we have compiled a handful of links to full and partial scholarships from international schools to help you in your search.

01)Sunway International School (SIS)

Scholarship	Academic Scholarship
Eligibility	Admissions into Grade 7 (Ontario) / Year 8 (Cambridge) as full time students. Malaysian and International student applicants. Academic requirements fulfilment: Obtained six (6) As in the following subjects in Grade 6 (Ontario) or Year 7 (Cambridge) English (Comprehension and Writing), AND Mathematics, AND Science; AND three (3) other subjects (only one (1) second language may be counted)
Value of Scholarship	25% waiver on tuition fee.
Eligibility	Admissions into Year 10 (Cambridge) as full time students. Malaysian and International student applicants. Must fulfil the academic requirements as follows: Must have obtained minimum 8As or 80% in at least 8 subjects in Year 9 final school results: English, Mathematics, Science (AND) Five (5) other subjects
Value of Scholarship	25% or 100% waiver on tuition fee

Scholarship	Sports and Music Scholarship
Eligibility	Full time Malaysian students of SIS. Age 12 to 18 years.
	A. Music Scholarship: Have obtained Grade 5 certification by an international examination board e.g. ABRM. Minimum 2 years of experience in local and international exposure.
	B. Sports Scholarship: Achieved outstanding sports achievements at district /state/national at local/international tournaments and competitions. Type of sport must be affiliated with Majlis Sukan Sekolah Malaysia (MSSM) or equivalent. Has won awards and was given recognition in a specific area of sports.
Value of Scholarship	25% waiver on tuition fee.
Deadline	1^st June for subsequent July intake or 1^st December for subsequent January intake.

Scholarship	IB Diploma Program Scholarship
Eligibility	New admissions into the International Baccalaureate. Diploma Programme at SIS. To enroll as Full time Malaysian or International students of SIS. Meet specific academic requirements for SPM / O-Level / Ontario Secondary School Grade 10 / IBMYP.
Value of Scholarship	The quantum of the scholarship varies depending on the student's academic results.

02)Garden International School Kuala Lumpur

Scholarship	GIS Sixth Form Scholarships
Eligibility	Outstanding individuals with an excellent record of academic achievement, co-curricular performance OR performing arts, contribution to the school community, highly developed collaborative skills, and capacity for abstract levels of thinking and reasoning. Malaysian applicants. Eligible to join Year 12 in Term 1, 2024-2025 academic year (commencing August 2024).

03)Australian International School Malaysia (AISM)

Scholarship	Years 11 and 12 Scholarships
Eligibility	Students with strong academic performance, co-curriculum involvement, communication skills and character. Malaysian aged 17 to 18 years old NOT enrolled to AISM Completing (or have completed) your SPM / IGCSE / O Level / IB MYP (or equivalent) in 2023 or 2024
Value of Scholarship	Full scholarship for Australian Pre-University Matriculation Programme for 2 years (Year 11 and 12)

04)Nexus International School

Scholarship	IB Diploma Scholarship
Eligibility	Open to all Malaysians and International Students sitting for their SPM/IGCSE/MYP or equivalent. Students need to demonstrate high academic achievement, English fluency, active participation in co-curricular activities, good communication skills and leadership attributes.
Value of Scholarship	Partial or full waiver to Registration Fee, Tuition Fee & Boarding Scholarship covers Application Fee and Registration Fee, as well as Tuition Fees Waiver does not include: Instrumental lessons CCA Uniforms Books MacBooks Technology Fee

Scholarship	ASEAN Bright Sparks – A-Level Full Scholarship
Eligibility	Have completed SPM or the local equivalent, please submit SPM mock exam results Achieved straight As in all SPM subjects or local equivalent Must be a resident or citizen of ASEAN countries Must be at least 16 years of age, below 20 years of age.
