Casa Bambini Early Childcare Centre, Kota Damansara, is housed in Sunway Nexis—a commercial hub right next to the Surian MRT station. It has been around for one and a half years, providing educational childcare services for kids age 2 months to 4 years.
Casa Bambini offers childcare programs that are divided into 4 age groups: Infant & Baby (2- 18 months), Junior Toddler (18 – 24 months), Toddler (2 – 3 years), and Pre Kindy (3 – 4 years).
All programs are highly sensorial and hands-on, focusing on a range of areas such as physical movement, arts and craft, daily living skills, social skills, language development, science and numeracy.
Kids here also learn mandarin as part of their syllabus, take part in fun fashion shows, and are encouraged to explore their feelings.
Through their holistic curriculum, little ones are guided through their key development stages in groups with low teacher-to-child ratios, allowing for more attention and personalization.
Natalie, founder of Casa Bambini, is a parent herself and had lived in Australia for 10 years prior to opening the centre. When she came back to Malaysia, she observed that kids in local daycares were not as relaxed as kids in Australia.
This gave her the idea of creating a comforting daycare environment here, where young children can develop confidence as they learn through play and discover their world.
The physical space at Casa Bambini is open, cosy and homely. There are no closed-off classrooms, but there is a nursery room for infants to sleep.
This open concept allows for different age groups to occasionally come together and interact.
At Casa Bambini, there is a sense of freedom and calmness, helped by the soothing pastel colours and child-sized furniture.
The teachers at Casa Bambini are experienced and trained in the field, while all their infant caretakers are qualified in nursing.
Natalie understands that good teaching takes patience, empathy and an understanding of kids’ behaviour. Thus, she ensures her team members have all these qualities, only selecting those she feels have the children’s best interests at heart.
When I personally visited the centre, I observed their teachers carry out learning activities through an expert blend of enthusiasm and calmness.
Parents who send their little ones to Casa Bambini would feel their concerns alleviated when it comes to safety and security. The centre is equipped with CCTV, access to their entrance is carefully controlled, and hygiene is taken seriously.
Daily cleaning and disinfection are carried out at the centre, and kids with any sickness symptoms are not allowed entry to the daycare.
Every 3 months, a deep disinfection of the centre is carried out by a third-party service provider.
We all know how important food is for growing kids.
Casa Bambini undoubtedly recognizes its importance, as they offer a nutritious menu, carefully designed for kids’ health needs.
Using a variety of organic and healthy ingredients, the team prepares fresh in-house meals with minimal sugar and salt.
Casa Bambini places open communication with parents at the forefront.
The teachers here carefully observe the children under their care and talk with parents if they have any doubts regarding development or behaviour. This allows them to get a more well-rounded picture of what is happening in the child’s life.
They also ensure that timely, honest and consistent updates about kids are provided to parents—allowing both the childcare team and families the ability to make the best decisions for the child.
Parents in turn also ask the team for advice regarding their kids, which shows great trust in their expertise.
Casa Bambini updates parents daily about their kid’s wellbeing through an app, and provides weekly updates on learning activities and progress.
Natalie shares, “I believe there is no one parenting method that suits all children and parents, so it’s best to discuss and come up with one solution and method that suits both child and parent.
“Everyone handles things differently, so we always try and find the best way.”
