Newly opened on the 5th of April 2023, Big Apple USJ4 is the latest branch of the renowned chain of kindergarten in Malaysia. Kiddy 123 has the immense pleasure of interviewing Ms Ooi from Big Apple USJ4 to share with us some of her hopes for this new branch.
The Big Apple Programme itself includes National-level curriculum, Enrichment Programme as well as Cambridge Junior English and a whole host of other interesting activities, all within engaging Thematic projects which are regularly changed to keep learning fresh and interesting for young children. The entire curriculum benefits its little attendees in more ways than one, and they include promoting creativity, boosting confidence, building social skills, sharpening motor skills, developing better problem-solving skills, and at the same time, preparing for their Primary schooling ahead. Learning is surely a joy in Big Apple, as all other children and families around Malaysia can attest.
Big Apple USJ 4 is set to leave an impact on families whose little ones are attending here, with its list of sensational programmes and facilities, as shared by Ms Ooi. Among them, there is the renowned STEAM programme. Also referred to as Wonder Newton, it is, for kindergarteners, the starting point for building their interest in the subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. While they are busy with their activities, little ones will inevitably engage critical thinking skills, inquiry as well as experiential learning, all of which will benefit them immensely during their whole schooling journey ahead.
Then, there is the Art Studio which is designed specially to inspire the hidden artists within, while the Little Kitchen is where little gourmet experts start young, learning to prepare, cook and serve good food, with a special knack for food safety, cleanliness and etiquette. It is also where they have their meals, needless to say,” she stated.
Little ones need to be instilled with 21st century skills to be truly successful in their future undertakings, hence Big Apple advocates E-learning plays an integral role in their learning landscape, where the use of projectors and slides are set to take precedence over writing boards of the past.
At the mention of Cambridge, most parents would be thinking of higher education and studies, but here, kids are starting young with the Cambridge English Young Learners which will help give them the best start for ultimately enrolling into good schools and higher institutions in the future. Cambridge English Young Learners also help ensure that young learners get to flourish in the English-speaking international arenas of the future.
Another invaluable programme offered at Big Apple is Junior Speaker, which helps little ones break out of their shells and voice out their opinions, and to speak out with poise and confidence. No one can deny that learning to express themselves well will be an invaluable asset for them as future leaders and trailblazers, and here is where it starts for them, via the Junior Speaker programme!
Outdoor time includes an outdoor playground for little ones to run, jump, skip and climb, ideal for burning up excess energy as they strengthen their muscles and learn to coordinate their body parts while moving around. They may also engage in Sand Play, or practice their artistic drawing and coloring skills with the special ChalkBoard. Indoor activities include some enjoyable music time in the kindergarten’s music room, and also, some quiet reading time, or even story-telling time in the lovely, inviting library, which happens to be one of its most lovable features.
Unique to the Big Apple chain of kindergartens around Malaysia, the exclusive GURUPANDA programme is offered to students of Big Apple who are 4, 5, and 6 years old. The interactive programme gives children access to various beneficial study materials, made up of educational videos, stories, music, study notes, quizzes, etc. The user-friendly platform runs using three languages, namely English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin.
