We provide a valuable learning process which focuses on the development of the mind and characters. English language is adopted as the sole medium of instruction. Our programme trains kids to read progressively, think critically and write creatively. The kids will enjoy the learning process which is academically structured, while at the same time socially engaging and fun.
Our class size is small, and the English language is adopted as the sole medium of instruction. Classes are interactive and children are encouraged to talk. We believe that the learning process will work best when children are engaged in purposeful use of language. A child can progress at his or her own learning pace. We see errors as part of learning and we encourage children to experiment with reading and writing to promote both their enjoyment and ownership. We embrace the ideas of Vygotsky (1978) about the social nature of learning and assume that learning is best served by collaboration between the mentor and children and among children. Mentors play the roles of both counselors and facilitators who assist children in their learning.
Our programmes are built on the Whole Language Learning approach which calls for language to be regarded holistically, rather than as pieces. We believe that children learn it the best not when they are learning language piece by piece but rather they are working to understand the meaning of whole texts.
Both cognitive and affective factors are taken care of in the learning process. Language skills are integrated in the curriculum in a progressive order while various levels of thinking skills defined in bloom taxonamy (ie. remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating and creating) are included to complete the tasks.
