Introduction

As one of the few International Baccalaureate World Schools in Malaysia that offer a full boarding experience, UCSI International School (UIS) Springhill has always been earmarked to be something special. A home where an extraordinary cohort of learners live, learn and play together. A school whose shared purpose attracts prodigious learners from around the world. A place where education and aspiration go hand-in-hand.

This sees us bringing the best people and the best learning approaches together to empower young minds, to realise their potential, to take them further, and to make their mark. As one of Malaysia’s foremost education providers, we believe in the transformational power of education.

UIS Springhill offers an IB programme that emphasizes intellectual, personal, emotional and social growth to prepare students to be active and life-long learners. The International Baccalaureate® (IB) aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) is designed for students aged 3 to 11. It focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside. It is a framework guided by six interdisciplinary themes of global significance, explored using knowledge and skills derived from six subjects areas, as well as interdisciplinary skills, with a powerful emphasis on inquiry. The PYP is flexible enough to accommodate the demands of most national or local curriculums and provides the best preparation for students to engage in the IB Middle Years Programme.

The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) is designed for students aged 11 to 16. It provides a framework of learning which encourages students to become creative, critical and reflective thinkers. The MYP emphasises intellectual challenge, encouraging students to make connections between their studies in traditional subjects and to the real world. It fosters the development of skills for communication, intercultural understanding and global engagement, qualities that are essential for life in the 21st century.

The MYP is flexible enough to accommodate the demands of most national or local curriculums. It builds upon the knowledge, skills and attitudes developed in the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and prepares students to meet the academic challenges of the IB Diploma Programme and the IB Career-related Certificate.

The IB Diploma Programme (DP) is an academically challenging and balanced programme of education with final examinations that prepares students, aged 16 to 19, for success at university and life beyond. It has been designed to address the intellectual, social, emotional and physical well-being of students. The programme has gained recognition and respect from the world’s leading universities.

Our experience at UCSI International School Springhill has been fruitful. Considering the IB is a rigorous system, we found the teachers to be supportive and have brought out the best in my daughter. Small class sizes and layered teaching has helped my daughter gain confidence in herself and her academic abilities. We found the management open minded, always striving to think outside the box and meet student’s needs. The students within my daughter's class have been kind, hardworking, non-superficial individuals who have supported her through both this global pandemic and any academic difficulties. All in all, a clean and safe environment.

It’s a real school which giving so much joy & fun, students are always the centers of learning. Children learn fast in fun! My children have been joining for 6 months, there arw so many activities like book week assembly, Christmas winter market & celebration, Chinese New Year celebration etc just to name a few. All these events were organised by students which exhibit their research skill, critical thinking, social & communication skills and even their self management skills despite busy study schedules. My children enjoy so much in studying, and friendship with students of all grades & even teachers. Students are from different countries & colour skins, but yet very prudent and humble, which rarely can find in international schools nowadays. I would say the passion & effort of principal is very critical in shaping the school culture with good values! Keep it up , UCSI Springhill big family…
