Sunny Steps Preschool was founded on the belief that academic excellence alone does not define a child’s ability to reach their full potential. Early development is key to a child’s growth, which is why we are committed to building a strong foundation for our children to learn, grow, share, and succeed.
At Sunny Steps Preschool, we encourage children to explore, take initiative, and grow in independence, helping them build self-esteem and social skills. We believe it’s essential for children to develop a sense of trust and feel at ease in their surroundings. Our environment is warm and welcoming, allowing your child to engage with our resources and learn at their own pace.
We have designed our environment to inspire creativity and imaginative play, nurturing a love for learning. With a low student-to-teacher ratio, we offer personalized learning experiences, ensuring that each child receives the attention and support they need to thrive and achieve their full potential.
My son, Nathan, is a special child. He was diagnosed with mild to moderate Autism spectrum disorder when he was just one and a half years old. He underwent intensive ABA therapy under Early Autism Project for 2 and a half years until he was 4 years old. The Wisconsin experts advised and suggested us to try to transit him to a normal school setting. That was when we approached Parenthood Preschool(now known as Sunny Steps) which was located right beside EAP.
When we first met Teacher Lilian (the current principal of Sunny Steps), who was experienced in handling autistic children, she comforted us and reassured that Nathan will do just fine in the school, which was a very encouraging first step to us as parents with a child of special needs. In school, the teachers always gave additional assistance to Nathan after class whenever he was having difficulties in keeping up with his classwork. Teacher May never gave up on Nathan and his Mandarin, even though he seemingly knew nothing; Cikgu Syira greets Nathan every morning with a bright smile on her face and a gentle, cordial tone. My son seems to be quite attached to his current class teacher, Teacher Nera, so much so that he's begun speaking in her accent. Can you believe it? He sounds incredibly adorable whenever he does that. What more could you possibly want as a parent than to see teachers getting along with your child as if he were one of their own?
Another thing I'd like to highlight would be that the parents and students in Sunny Steps (previously known as Parenthood) are truly marvellous and amazing too. The children in the school have been understanding and helpful all this while. Sometimes, I see his peers handing him his bottle whenever he seems to forget, and that reflects the high quality education that these children have. I am immensely grateful so far and wish to give thanks to all the teachers and friends that accompanied my son throughout his preschool journey.

I am thrilled to share my son's experience at Sunny Steps Preschool. My son, Xavier, has truly flourished since joining. The thematic learning approach keeps his curiosity alive and makes every week an exciting adventure. He eagerly anticipates each new theme, whether it's exploring nature or diving into a creative art project.
Initially, Xavier struggled with separation and cried for several weeks when I dropped him off. However, the teachers were incredibly patient and nurturing, providing him with the comfort and support he needed. Their understanding helped him transition smoothly, and now he happily runs into class, excited to see his friends. The supportive environment and dedicated staff have made a great impact on his confidence and love for learning.
I definitely recommend Sunny Steps Preschool to any parent looking for a nurturing and engaging environment for their child. It's been a fantastic experience for our family.
