Introduction

Amcorp Mall is situated at 18, Jalan Persiaran Barat, Petaling Jaya, 46050 Selangor. The mall comprises 5 levels of restaurants, retail outlets and 2 basement parking levels. Years ago, there was a cinema serving the movie goers but it was closed down not long thereafter.

Easily accessible via public transportation, patrons can take LRT and stop at Taman Jaya LRT Station since the shopping mall is located in front of the station. Strategically located between Shah Alam and Kuala Lumpur, Amcorp Mall was once a famous and crowded shopping centre. However, with the emergence of 1 Utama, Mid Valley Gardens and Sunway Pyramid, this mall is practically deserted on weekdays.

Nevertheless, the biggest draw to the crowd is the flea market on weekends. Compared to other larger and bigger shopping malls, one may not find Amcorp Mall interesting but for those who loved antiques and collectibles, this mall is definitely your choice all the time! Located on Lower Ground level, this retail shop sells wide array of collectibles such as coins, currency notes, pictures and stamps. During the weekends, there are also several stalls in flea market selling antiques and collectible items.

As mentioned earlier, one of the main attractions in Amcorp is the weekly flea market selling various items from arts & crafts to collectibles, as well as second-hand items and clothes. It was once dubbed the biggest indoor flea market in Klang Valley area. First started in 1998, the flea market is still going strong today.

Another popular attraction in the mall is BookXcess located on third level where brand-new fiction and non-fiction titles are selling at a price lower by 70 percent compared to the market price. So, it’s practically warehouse sale for book lovers everyday. Other retail outlets including the Giant Supermarket located on Lower Ground level, Guardian, Popular Bookstore and plenty more.

With the closure of cinema in the mall, there are less entertainment outlets but then again, you can still visit Snooker Arena located on level 3 as it operates daily from 12 noon until 3 in the morning.

One can easily reach or direct cab drivers to Amcorp Mall since it is located adjacent to the popular first A & W Restaurant in Klang Valley years ago. Besides, Hilton Hotel is only minutes away from the mall. For those who are driving to the mall, no worries as there are plenty of indoor and outdoor parking spots.

Amcorp Mall is one interesting shopping centre in Petaling Jaya vicinity considering its elegant but yet spacious architectural design. The mall is specially designed for people from all walks of life with the mini anchor-tenant-retailing concept.
