Taska Ceritamu is housed in a spacious corner lot in SS 5, Kelana Jaya. They offer educational childcare and playschool services for babies and young children, from age one to six years old.
Parents are able to send children here for a full-day programme that involves a learning schedule in the morning and a fun and relaxing childcare service after. The centre provides nutritious and varied food for kids too.
Taska Ceritamu aims to provide a safe and conducive learning environment, through the use of a thoughtfully designed curriculum and special learning areas that expand a young child’s existing knowledge. They do this through the creation of purposeful learning experiences and play activities.
Children here learn to socialise, share, cooperate, and most importantly develop the love for learning, which moulds them into lifelong learners. At Ceritamu, they believe in the wholesome development of a child, which means that kids aren’t only building academic skills, but are also acquiring other crucial skills that help them navigate through their life journeys.
The centre uses the FunGates Programme, a renowned and trusted education system that has been around for more than 30 years, and used in over 100 schools.
Fungates strongly believes that learning must be both fun—and meaningful—for children. They know that the first six years of a child's life are the most important, and they ought to be filled with memories of challenging yet enjoyable learning experiences.
The system emphasis the ability for children to think critically and creatively, and aims to help individuals find solutions and adapt to changes as they grow.
In this programme, children learn to communicate their thoughts effectively and express their own feelings. They also develop the ability to listen and understand the needs of others, which helps them collaborate well at work and within society.
It is Taska Ceritamu’s aim to build a strong nation with future leaders who care for the community and are able to make informed choices for the good of all.
Taska Ceritamu’s teachers are highly passionate about working with small children. Most of their teachers have at least a diploma in early childhood education or more than five years of working experience. They also have the Permata training or certification (which is the government required certification for teachers working with children aged 4 years and below). The teachers here, who are trained in CPR and First Aid, are careful and caring; always putting kids’ safety first.
Furthermore, to ensure that they’re delivering the best learning experience for students, all teachers attend a compulsory yearly training under the Fungates System. This equips them with the latest methods of education and improves their classroom management skills.
Teachers are also encouraged to attend courses related to current child development offered in the industry.
The centre believes in establishing a close, communicative, and healthy partnership with parents, to ensure the wholesome development of their kids. Parents are always welcome to call and speak to their teachers if they’ve any concerns about their child’s progress or behaviour.
To keep parents informed and at ease, a report is sent every week to all parents of one- to two-year-olds, elaborating on the children’s activities and their development areas. For Parents of three- to four-year-olds, they’ll receive a monthly report on their children’s learning.
Other than that, Taska Ceritamu organises opportunities for parents to get more involved in their kids’ learning experience. For example, a special event called Breakfast@Ceritamu is held twice a year for parents to meet with their team of teachers and talk about children’s progress. They also have a biannual parent-teacher meeting to update families on their kids’ academic growth.
On top of all this, the team at Taska Ceritamu tries to send pictures of kids’ activities via WhatsApp to every child’s parents weekly.
