Nestled in the heart of Kota Damansara, My Little World Preschool offers a refreshing take on early childhood education. Founded by a team of psychologists and early child educators, with background in Business Psychology & Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), have shaped the school's unique approach that caters to toddlers and children aged 4 months to 6 years old.
My Little World’s journey into early childhood education was inspired by the team’s own experiences as parents, who were disheartened by preschools that felt more like factories than nurturing spaces. In today’s world, where everything is technologically and digitally driven, My Little World revolutionised the education method that aims to improve the children’s latent abilities instead of towards technological readiness. This method prioritises building essential life skills through play, exploration and learning from mistakes, letting them grow within their own unique space. This is aligned with My Little World values that "Everyone has their own world."
The curriculum here is designed around the belief that every child is different, and learning should reflect that. Instead of rigid teaching methods, My Little World use brain development to enhance children’s cognitive skills, and practical learning into preschool curriculum.
The preschool's Neu 360 programme, which is developed in-house, focuses on areas such as languages, arts, rhythm, and math – specifically designed to stimulate neural connections, which are crucial during the first three years of a child’s life, when neuron growth is at its peak.
A typical day starts with physical activities to engage the body and, in turn, the brain. The school environment encourages exploration and connection with nature. Outdoor play areas include a trampoline and obstacle courses—all designed to develop core strength and coordination.
There’s also a bamboo hut and a large field with real grass, which My Little World team believe helps children develop a connection to the natural world. Classrooms are bright, airy, and flexible, with learning happening in every corner, free from the distractions of screens and technology.
After morning activities, the timetable follows thematic learning sessions that are interest-led, encouraging children to explore concepts in creative ways. Whether it’s understanding why a wheel is round or exploring different cultures through simple greetings, lessons are hands-on and relatable.
For older children, afternoons are focused on making sure they are up to speed with the needs of the National Preschool Standard Curriculum (KSPK) – which means brushing up on their reading and writing skills, so that they are well prepared for primary school. There are also enrichment activities such as dance, to help children develop their motor skills and release any anxiety or stress; music foundation, as well as football.
With how rapidly technology is evolving, children today are faced with challenges that previous generations may not have faced. This is why My Little World Preschool focuses on developing 21st century skills, such as problem solving and critical thinking.
Children participate in project-based learning and even get a taste of entrepreneurship through programmes, which teaches financial literacy in fun, age-appropriate ways. However, My Little World team are mindful that not all children are ready for such activities. The team emphasise that "The first thing is to develop the brain. If a child cannot focus or sit still, we need to address that before expecting them to manage projects." Brain development at My Little World begins as early as 4 months old, with appropriate practical activities to stimulate curiosity within a child’s mind. Here, your child will develop their brain faster and efficiently, growing them into great individuals.
Linguistic development is also key. Children are exposed to multiple vocabularies in a natural, practical manner—learning new words as they do daily activities including celebrating cultural events. This exposure helps to build their interest and foundational skills in languages.
The preschool operates with small teacher-to-student ratios (2:6 for younger children and 1:8 for older ones), ensuring personalised attention. Teachers are selected not just for their qualifications but for their patience and understanding of child development. Ongoing training equips them to handle various learning and behavioural needs effectively.
Parental involvement is another cornerstone of My Little World’s philosophy. The school encourages open communication, offering guidance to parents on child development milestones and emotional support. "Early Years Development needs support from both parents and school," The team note. "it takes a village to raise a child"
Ultimately, My Little World Preschool isn’t about producing high test scores or early academic achievements. It’s about laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning, emotional resilience, and critical thinking. For parents seeking an environment where their child’s individuality is celebrated and their natural curiosity is nurtured, My Little World offers an approach that’s both thoughtful and refreshing.
