Garden International School Primary Students Mesmerize Audiences with Shrek The Musical Jr.

Garden International School (GIS) recently organised Shrek The Musical Jr. event, presented by their talented Primary students. The magical production transported audiences into the whimsical world of Shrek, captivating them with laughter, heartwarming moments, and unforgettable songs.

 

 

Each GIS student in the production did justice to their roles and delivered outstanding performances.

 

 

The Primary students of Garden International School showcased their talent and dedication as they brought the beloved characters of Shrek to life on stage. With boundless energy and creativity, they rehearsed tirelessly to deliver a truly mesmerising performance that delighted all who attended.

 

Shrek The Musical Jr., an enchanting adaptation of the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, took the audience on a remarkable journey. From the lovable ogre Shrek's quest to rescue the beautiful Princess Fiona from a tower guarded by a fire-breathing dragon to the encounters with hilarious characters like Donkey and the villainous Lord Farquaad, the musical delivered a heartwarming reminder that true beauty lies within.

Under the guidance of GIS teachers, the students masterfully told the story through their acting, songs and dance. Their exceptional vocal abilities and stage presence shone through in each toe-tapping ensemble number and poignant solo. The choreography and stunning costumes, skillfully crafted props and backdrop, and the lighting effects further enhanced the visual spectacle, immersing the audience in the magical world of Shrek.

 

"I am immensely proud of the number of students involved in this year's Primary production and the tremendous effort they have put in over this term,” said Nicola Nelson (Head of Primary). “We also acknowledge the dedicated students who formed the Set & Prop CCA and Elective. Their invaluable contributions have been integral to this musical's success, and their unwavering dedication and commitment have indeed brought the show to life.”

 

 

The performances of Shrek The Musical Jr. took place on 12th, 13th & 14th June at GIS’s Grand Hall, and the response from the 1300 audience (over 3 days) was overwhelmingly positive. Families, students, and members of the local community came together to support the Primary students of Garden International School and experience the magic of live theatre.
