Anugerah Bestari Playschool & Preschool, Ampang, Kuala Lumpur is a welcoming place that strives to nurture the hearts of children with Islamic-based values and the enthusiasm to learn through a play-based approach. By bridging both faith and fun learning, Mdm. Zaharah, the founder and an esteemed Syariah lawyer, aspires to guide and raise Muslim children by equipping them with the knowledge and wisdom to give them a great head start in their education journey.
After 17 years, Anugerah Bestari has grown to include 13 centres and counting nationwide. Parents can find them at Ampang, Pandan Jaya, Wangsa Maju, Bandar Baru Ampang, Taman Nirvana, Taman Memanda, Pandan Indah, Pandan Mas, Taman Putra Sulaiman and Taman Maluri. Mdm. Zaharah continues to pave the way as a leading Islamic education provider by establishing the Ar Rayyan Islamic Integrated Primary School.
As one of the pioneers of Islamic preschools in Malaysia, Anugerah Bestari adopts the Standard National Preschool Curriculum (KSPK) with Islamic study modules integrated into the daily timetable for children aged 1 to 6 years. The subjects offered under the Anugerah Bestari programmes meet the requirements of the preschool curriculum provided by the Ministry of Education. They cover English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mathematics, Science, Al Budur (Quranic recitations), Art & Craft, Physical Education, and more.
At Anugerah Bestari, the teachers understand that children are born curious with a deep desire to explore their surroundings and environment. Therefore, they incorporate plenty of fun elements like interactive activities, games, role play and songs into the learning process to help children develop the interest and motivation to learn.
Within the happy and safe environment at Anugerah Bestari, children start the day at 8.30 a.m. with some circle time where they will talk about the topic of the week, followed by 1-to-1 reading and doa (prayer) recital. The day then progresses with the daily learning of subjects which are delivered through play-based acitivites, as well as a multimedia educational programme that consists of linguistic, logical and musical elements to help young learners absorb the lesson better. After 12 p.m., an after-school schedule, which includes prayer recitals, nap time, lesson revision, and enrichment programmes like robotics, Taekwondo and Mandarin, is in place to meet children’s needs.
What thus sets Anugerah Bestari apart from other Islamic preschools in Malaysia is its educational philosophy, which doesn't only focus on children's intellectual growth, but one that also emphasises the importance of nurturing the right values and attitudes necessary to lead a fuller life as a modern-day believer. Befitting its balanced approach to early childhood education, Anugerah Bestari graduates will leave the preschool confident in their ability to ask questions, volunteer and socialise with those around them.
On top of that, Mdm. Zaharah believes that it’s her team of dedicated teachers who is instrumental in shaping children’s early years to lead them into a lifetime of success. Besides being certified with a minimum of a Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Anugerah Bestari teachers are passionate about teaching children, serving as a great inspiration and role model for the little ones. They are always adaptive and creative in designing fun and engaging activities that suit children’s abilities. Most importantly, they create a supportive space where children are encouraged to become the best versions of themselves.
