Lil Footprints Infant & Childcare Centre has created a safe haven specializing in high quality childcare and education for children from 2 months to 5 years. Service is based upon their philosophy that children come first in all aspects of their practices. Each child’s individuality is top priority and the focus lies on creating supportive environments for children to grow into the best versions of themselves.
The centre endeavours to create a setting where children find comfort and security with an extension to an abundance of holistic opportunities for self-discovery. These opportunities all support each child’s unique needs, abilities and interests. The curriculum hews to a close reading of Maria Montessori’s philosophy of care and education, offering ideal preparation for school and life in a family-focused atmosphere. Programmes are designed to help children transition into the wider community by assisting them into becoming independent, confident and active members of the society. Enrolment comes with the option of full-day and half-day sessions.
The environment is safe and well-supervised for children to observe, explore, question and experiment. Experiences engage balanced connections between play-based, intentional and responsive pedagogies based on group and individual observations. Sensory-based apparatus and materials are arranged on low, open shelves, inviting children to engage in hands-on experiential learning. These tools teach children concrete knowledge areas and are beneficial for fine motor development. Children develop independence by directing their own learning through play, practicing, and sharing resources, ideas and space with others.
Every day is filled with developmentally appropriate activities designed to meet the needs of children in the following curriculum areas:
Children are engaged in activities that prepare them to care for themselves and their surroundings. Simple concrete practices such as dressing oneself, washing hands, habitual courtesies and putting things in order assist children to develop independence, physical coordination, self-control and respect.
Specially designed learning materials encourages different discoveries through all the senses: sight, touch, taste, sound and smell. Activities include grading and matching materials that isolate perceptions of texture, sizes, colours and forms, making children become more logical, aware and perceptive.
Using simple sandpaper letters, children learn the sounds of letters, then link the sounds to make words, and use the words to form sentences. Phonetic sounds are also introduced to build a foundation for word formation and reading. Children explore and learn to master both written and verbal expression.
Early mathematics begin with concrete materials, allowing children to learn through simple activities like counting, sorting, sequencing and comparing. The process sees children gain understanding of basic mathematical concepts including number recognition and placing value.
This study gives children a greater insight into the big world that surrounds them – the people, the different cultures, the terrain and the animals of each continent. It integrates geography, botany, science, zoology, history and social studies into the curriculum. As children make their way through different continents, they are introduced to the wonders of the diverse artworks, music, festive celebrations and other related items reflective of the respective communities.
A well-rounded, day-long programme is designed to complement the core curriculum. Children make the most of the time at the centre with active learning opportunities that expand little minds such as role playing, art and crafts, cognitive development exercises, storytelling and physical play. Nutritious, balanced meal plans are an integral part of the day. The seamless system of care and education makes pick-ups, drop-offs and planning a cinch for the families they serve.
The children population is small and close-knit. The centre reaps the benefits of its size, namely a very focused learning environment, a high level of individual attention, and a clear sense of belonging and engagement. Professionals at Lil Footprints represent a team of well-trained, loving and nurturing individuals who strives to fill every child’s earliest memories with happy and enriching experiences. Parents are drawn to the values that inform the delivery of the curriculum, as well as an appreciation of diversity within the school and strict enforcement of safety regulations. The centre prizes the relationship it has with the families that enroll and promotes honest, open communication within the community.
Lil Footprints Infant & Childcare Centre provides a complete learning environment to foster the whole child in their years of prime betterment. It encourages identity, confidence, well-being, communication and connection from the earliest point of their lives in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for each child.
