Introduction

Gadek Hot Spring is located in Kampung Ganun, in the district of Alor Gajah, approximately 30km from the Melaka town. There is no written evidence on its formation and existence. However, it was believed that the local villagers discovered the hot spring in the forest after watching some English soldiers settled around the spring. The area surrounding the hot spring was first developed in 1980s and improved from time to time into a popular tourist attraction. Gadek Hot Spring is also equipped with various facilities which includes restaurant, food stalls, children’s playground, outdoor swimming pool and bathrooms. These facilities transform Gadek Hot Spring into a complete recreational area, suitable for everyone.

The spring has a surface temperature of 56 degree Celsius and with an average water flow of 5.4 litres per minute, containing hydrogen sulphide gas. The sulphur content is deemed safe for human skin and is believed to be capable of curing various types of skin diseases.
