1. Junior English (JE)
At CEFL, we firmly believe in encouraging children to recognize the correct forms of English from an early age as this gives them a thorough grounding and a strong foundation in learning the language as they grow up. The Junior English course is available at two levels for pre-schoolers: Junior English (JE) 1 (age 4 – 5 years) and Junior English (JE) 2 (age 5 – 6 years).
2. Cambridge English: Young Learners
The Cambridge YLE courses are fun, encouraging and confidence-building, packed with interesting and stimulating activities. Learners at the Starters level begin by studying simple words and phrases before gradually advancing on to using extended and more challenging language at the Fantastic Flyers level. The focus of language learning is to acquire all four communication skills – Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking, which are emphasized at each level. The courses conclude in a series of assessments from the Cambridge Young Learners English Tests. The Cambridge Young Learners English (YLE) courses are designed for children aged 7 to 12 years.
3. Cambridge English: Key (KET)
Cambridge English: Key (KET) offers learners a basic qualification in English, serving as an ideal pathway to higher qualifications. Users of English at this elementary level are also described as Waystage (Level A2) users. A Waystage user will be able to use English in a range of daily situations with native and non-native speakers of English while studying, working or travelling in their own or a foreign country.
4. Cambridge English: Preliminary (PET)
Cambridge English: Preliminary (PET) is used as a measure of language ability for official or instructional purposes, such as acquiring citizenship or gaining entry into courses to further studies. Language learners at this Threshold (B1) Level, should be able to cope linguistically in a range of everyday situations in their own or foreign country, requiring a largely predictable use of the English language for general purposes.
5. Cambridge English: First (FCE)
Learners at the FCE level are described as Independent (Level B2) users, which correspond to what is often referred to as an upper-intermediate stage of proficiency. They expected to have sufficient ability to operate effectively in English in a variety of work situations in the real world as well as the context of taking a course of study using the English medium. FCE is officially recognised by employers around the world for commerce and industry. Many universities and educational institutions accept FCE for their English language entrance requirements.
6. Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE)
Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) is designed to offer a high-level qualification to individuals who wish to use English for professional or study purposes. It is also designed to encourage the development of the skills required by learners progressing towards scholastic achievement, with emphasis on real-world tasks.
7. Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE)
Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE) is the final and most advanced level of the Cambridge English Language Assessment examinations. At this Mastery (C2) Level, learners have progressed to a level of fluency in English which is on a par with that of an educated native speaker. They are able to function effectively in almost any situation in an English-speaking environment. CPE is accepted by most universities and colleges in Britain and other countries throughout the world as proof of the learners’ ability to follow courses of higher education or post-graduate study taught in the English language.
